This cubist painter spent the greater part of his childhood in Argentan where his mother’s house can still be seen at 5 rue des Jacobins.
As a tribute to this great humanist artist, the architecture of Argentan’s main hospital, which has recently been refurbished, has been inspired by his colours and subjects. A large fresco is also displayed in the foyer of Argentan railway station.
